Robert has extensive family law experience in both mediation and litigation. Robert aims to provide a superior standard of legal services by listening to your needs and then providing sound and realistic advice, as well as representation in court. Robert is well known for his formidable advocacy skills. He has been practising as a litigation lawyer since 2005.

Robert has previously worked as a Victims Compensation Assessor and a solicitor for Family and Community Services. Robert opened Hosking & Gosling Legal in 2008 and practices predominantly in the areas of Children’s Law and Family Law.

Robert is a member of various panels for Family Law and Care and Protection. He also acts as an Independent Children’s Lawyer in Care and Protection matters. Robert is also appointed to the external panel of legal practitioners who act for Family and Community Services in Care and Protection Proceedings.

Robert is the only Illawarra lawyer on the legal panel for the Association of Childrens Welfare Agencies (ACWA).

Robert has presented a number of professional papers on Children’s Law issues on topics such as presentation of video surveillance evidence, procedural law, Aboriginal children placement law and Supreme Court applications. Robert has been published in the ‘Children’s Law News.’

Broadie Gosling is the Director and Principal Solicitor of our firm bringing expertise and unwavering dedication to every case. With a strong passion for family law Broadie has built a reputation for guiding clients through some of life’s most challenging moments with both compassion and clarity.

Specialising in complex parenting and property matters, Broadie combines a strategic approach with genuine care for client outcomes. However, when resolution isn’t possible outside of Court, Broadie is a confident and capable advocate in litigation ensuring her clients rights and interest are fiercely protected.

Dr Fabienne Else was admitted as a solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2020 and joined Hosking & Gosling Legal shortly after. Since joining the firm, she has worked primarily in the area of victim’s compensation, identifying and making claims for children in the foster care system. Fabienne is passionate about this area of work and has been utilising her research and policy skills to push for changes within this system that would provide greater levels of support and compensation for children who have been significantly abused.

Fabienne is a highly qualified post-doctoral researcher who has worked on numerous international and government-funded projects. Her research skills are utilised at Hosking & Gosling Legal to provide expert research support to the solicitor team for complex matters.

Fabienne holds a PhD in Law (with Examiner’s Commendation), as well as a Bachelors of Laws and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wollongong. She also holds a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the Australian National University.

Prior to coming to Hosking & Gosling Legal, Fabienne completed a PhD focussed on the impact of Intensive Correction Orders (a form of criminal sentence) on Indigenous offenders in NSW.   Her thesis, entitled ““Set-up to fail”: Indigenous experiences of Intensive Correction Orders in New South Wales” is available online. Outside of her work at Hosking & Gosling Legal, Fabienne is a casual academic at the University of Wollongong where she teaches in the Criminology department and works on a variety of large ARC-funded law projects.

Irfana has been practicing as a family lawyer since 2018. Irfana is passionate about supporting clients navigating the complexities of family law and aims to provide frank, realistic advice to clients.

Coming from a migrant background herself, Irfana also appreciates the barrier and stigma that language and cultural factors create and strives to ensure all her clients receive the utmost care and understanding throughout their legal journey.

Irfana is bilingual and fluent in Bosnian/ Croatian which enables her to connect on a deeper level with a diverse array of clients.
